Post by: geoff on July 12, 2010, 08:19:15 PM
Hi

I bought this car with an overheating problem. Turned out to be the head gasket. I've replaced that now, including head skim. The overheating problem has now gone. Here are some details

reg no - M58 TSO
MoT - 31 Aug 10
Tax - Sept 10

Converted to coils with 2"  lift
5 speed manual
154,000 miles
18" Hurricanes (tyres needed)
ABS light stays on (probably a sensor)
CD player

Please ask if you want any more info

Be the first to RTV a P38 ;D ;D

?1000 with the 18" hurricanes or ?900 without

Hi

It's the 2.5 BMW engine
I'm in Carnock near Dunfermline

Another finding, the light on the lowbox switch stays on. It's not in lowbox and I can't make it change.

Here are a few more pics as requested. I chucked a bucket of water over it.

I went out for another drive today, this is a pretty good car.

Hi,

An update, I've put a set of 16" alloys on it now. There are two good Pirelli Scorpions and two legal Pirelli Scorpions.
I've taken the hurricanes off as the back two are probably not legal.
The spare is a 16" alloy and there is a good 16" michelin on a steel wheel.
The 18" hurricanes are included in the sale.

I've applied for a V5, I don't think the guy i bought it off ever did send it away. >:(

I did an HPI check last night and it's all clear.
not stolen
no high risk recorded
no finance outstanding
no colour changes
10 owners
3 private plates, including the one thats on it.

cheers

Geoff

Hi Hovis,

Head is all sorted and yes it takes a few cranks to get it going when hot.
