Disco 2 front ball joint replacement
« on: February 10, 2014, 10:07:02 PM »
Hi,

Has anybody replaced discovery 2 front upper and lower ball joints?

The ball joints are press fit type and require a LR tool to remove and fit.

Any advice welcome.

Thanks

Just finished changing my discovery 2 ball joints. Not an easy job.

You need a torque bar set at 480NM, bearing service kit to push out bearing and a good 3/4" socket set just to start with.

Put mine into gemm as father in law and local mechanic who both know Landys had never done them and they weren't in Haynes manual.

easier to leave the hub on the drivshaft and pull out as one imo
