Directions here

For those coming along on Sunday Drumclog is on the A71 between Galston and Strathaven. (Drumclog is only fifty yards long or so, so don't blink!)

If coming from Galston direction you will pass a lorry depot and see a church on the right hand side with a small turning immediately before it (B475). Turn right down here and follow the road after a mile or so and you will reach a right angled turn to the left with a farm track going straight on, carry straight on down this farm track and I think the last old farmhouse (on the left) has a CAFE sign outside, keep straight on past this and then you will see a locked gate on the right and an open one on the left into a field with a small hill in the middle, we should be in there.

The link shows the cross roads and B745 and you can just make out the small track.

this link should show a satelite picture, X marks the spot

Hope you got home ok Bill, not too long for the RAC to turn up I hope. I'll be mistaking you for Black Sheep if you're not careful, at least Ross manages to get going again.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Had my own mishap as well today, although only a track rod, I now carry a spare after last time I bent one, oh and I've never been towed out by a tractor before   :( :( :(

Another good day overall, just a shame there was so few of us.

There has been a lot of rumour surrounding Drumclog and the quarry lately so I took the opportunity to speak to Kenny about it. Yes it will be going ahead but they have to build the conveyor belt first, although they have been going to do it for 30 years now. He did however assure me that there would always be land available for us to play on as they would only be using a relatively small part at a time.

Dave, thanks for organising and sharing the pics.  I had a sense of deja vu when I saw your pic carrying out field repairs  ;D
I see there was also the obligatory pic of a jeep being recovered lol
Sorry I wasn't there but I hope to be out to play soon.  Your almost in the jeepclub now as the John Deere had to recover me at Glentarkie........twice ;)

Take care

New i was in trouble on the way home when i considerd trading the old girl in for a jeep, (sorry ross) but my son talked me round  :D

thats because your son has never been in the jeep, with the doors and roof off,  basking in glorious sunshine when off roading in the summer with the chrome gleaming. Shades on and big cheesy grin until you hit that first mud hole. Then the grin turns to a look of horror as all the`sh*t of the day comes over the top of the windscreen and you find yourself upto your ankles stuck in in a cess pool sinking slowly. It a jeep thing lol  8)
On a more serious note, sorry to hear whats happened and hope you get things fixed.

All the best

Ross
