Folks, would be grateful for any help with my Discovery.

When cruising at 50mph on the flat, i feel the engine slightly accelerating and easing off, asif i my foot was shaking on the throttle. The engine runs like a dream an pulls like a train so i think we can rule out timing etc. My thoughts led to the vacume hose from the EGR, however it seams to be sucking ok when revved. The injector pump was reconditioned 6 months ago by M&B Diesel so i would tend to rule this out.....or should i?

Also, EGR blanking plate is fitted.

Any help would be greatfully appreciated.

start with the basics, clean out the sedimenter at the back and change the fuel filter, lift pump may be worth a look too.
does it start fine in the morning? if not maybe fuel running back/air leak

Got to agree with Piper5 on this i was getting the same symptoms allbeit on a def 300tdi and turned out to be lift pump.

By the by they are easy to change and pretty cheep as well.
