Drumclog Comp Safari
« on: May 16, 2010, 11:37:45 PM »
First time I have been to one of the night sessions at a Comp Safari and found it to be a lot more interesting than I imagined beforehand. Amazed at how close to daylight speeds the competitors were travelling. Added bonus was that they all seemed very keen to get all their runs in quickly, they either wanted to get to bed or start partying, not sure which. Few gaps in the action and an early finish.

Tried some video but the results are best viewed by the real die-hard enthusiasts or anaroks that can identify the vehicles by sound or spotlight configurations. With any luck Brillo will have been to the daylight sessions to capture what I missed.

Well done to all the organisers and entrants.

Calum.

Was certainly a good day on Sunday, and the weather was good once you dropped of the hill out of the wind.

Plenty more photos here from Sunday's action, if anyone wants an original drop me a PM and I can e mail.

Alan A bet me to it posting up the video link...we are very appreciative of all positive comments received.

Thanks to Boghog for the excellent night time footage...one of these days I'll manage to work out the 'night time mode' on my camera!

We had a lovely time, as ever, at the very well organised and friendly event (apart from the water soakings!). It was good to be able to chat to competitors and their crews for a change as normally we are dashing over the stage trying to capture as much of the action as possible.

Here's the link again in case you missed it!
