will 4.2 rrc fit 4.6 p38

 hi all
 a friend of mine has a p38 4.6( think its a m reg ) with a knackered engine , he has been offered a 4.2 out of a rrc (not sure how old it is) . can anyone tell me if it is possable to fit engine or will he need to find a 4.6 from a p38 any information would be a help, or if you have a 4.6 for sale.

Better to find a 4.6 (or 4.0).

The engine would fit but electrics and a couple of missing sensors would confuse things. . .

The 4.2 is probably worth much more money than any P38 engine anyway!

And to be honest in standard guise the 4.2 is not more reliable than a 4.6, so why take the step down in power?
