Defender 90 Wanted
« on: September 20, 2010, 12:14:27 PM »
Hi!   I'm looking for a Defender 90, hard-top or CSW, 200 or 300 tdi.

I have ?3-4K available to spend, perhaps more if in very good nick or with galvanized chassis. The only snag is that SWMBO is involved, and she wants one in metallic blue  ::). However, I think I can also convince her to go with classic green/white if I try hard enough!  ;).  Based Central Belt, but will travel if necessary.

Cheers folks!

I just (on Saturday) bought one from this guy on ebay, its not purfect but good solid chassis and bulkhead and engine and gearbox seem strong.

I phoned him and he had a different one in from those advertised so got it before it went to bidding on ebay. He sent a load of photos to show main areas and he did seem to be reasonably honest. I also wanted a station wagon so that did cut down my options a great deal, if you aren't fussy then there is a lot more about, you just have to be quick, I missed several good looking ones.
There do seem to be quite a few about (except up here) but any near perfect ones are going for horrendously steep prices just now.

Good luck

Thanks for the tips guys. Unfortunately though I'd love Ross's, it wasn't to my good lady's taste, and the one in Cambuslang (another beauty) is apparently on its way to Holland now!  DaveT - thanks for the recommendation. I'm heading past Bolton in a few weeks time, so if I'm still looking then, I'll give your man a call.

Keep the ideas coming, as I'm sure the right one is out there somewhere  :)
