I've just spotted an evening course at Forth Valley College Falkirk campus, 12 weeks 6pm to 9pm, Starts 17th Feb - £100  for the course,

There is a possibility of getting grants towards it and a genuine Qual at the end of it..  Thought I'd learn how to MIG weld...

"Introduction to Welding Skills
This course in welding will help learners acquire and develop practical skills in welding techniques and processes. This course is workshop based and offers students the choice of three different welding processes (Manual Metal Ark, Metal Inert Gas, and Tungsten Inert Gas) with which to develop their welding skills. The course will run over 12 weeks and Students will select one welding process from the three stated above. The relevant Personal Protective Equipment will be supplied however safety shoes or boots must be provided by the Student. Qualification obtained National Course (Access / Intermediate) / Standard Grade / GCSE"

My mudmaster navigator and I did this course about 3 years ago or longer. He has a rotten Nova in his garage we were going to turn into a track car. Nothing ever came of that. I suspect there will be no metal left to weld to!!

It was quite a good course being taught stick, mig and Tig welding and gaining a recognised qualification at the end of it.

Well there are 5 places left for the course so get booked up before they are gone. A bit of an LR gang would be good too.

At £100 I make that a 100% bargain !

these courses are good, previously done arc and mig, planning on doing tig now i have bought the machine, pity this is a tuesday night, the only night i cant do.

Just followed the link to this, however I do not seem to find the evening course, only the full year course?

I don't think they had time to set up the Thursday course on the website before they closed for Christmas. Check again in the New Year and they should have places on the Thursdays.
