just purchased 2.5 HSE on a S plate,vechicle comes with radio cas would like to install DVD player or similiar ,how hard is it ,can it be done easily,any ideas would be much appreciated.

you can get head units that are standard size and have a screen that slides out then rotates up....

or you could get a head unit withjust the player and get seperate screens.....

OR you could get a player that goes elsewhere with the seperte screens.

what option are you looking at, and where do you want the screens/player... and how much are you looking to spend.....

I would like to remove existing unit and replace with good fitting unit maybe spending ?150 .

ok this is  just of the halfords website, so there is cheaper out there, i merely show you the path here:P

the screen basically rotates top down then slides into the unit.the website also says its compatible with your car so  but its basicaly a standard sized unit, its more for the screen deployment.

the website also states you need an adapter

so its gonna cst about 200 at the prices today, but its an easy fit, take you all of 15 mins max. and thats including taking the stuff out the box.

Ha, Followed a foriegn truck up the M6 a few months ago...the guy had a laptop balanced on the dash, obviously watching a dodgy film. Passed the reg no to Plod but who knows if they managed to get him. Insane. 

Some of these guys use the laptop for GPS applications, combination of navaigation and security tracking, used to get involved in this mobile data stuff when I was working so might have been sort of semi legal and not a dodgy movie

Well, I'm just an innocent wee lad....but unless his security application was some sort of X-Ray kit which involved scanning young ladies.... - No he was watching a dodgy movie all right !

At my age i am only intrested in keeping my eye on the road unless its a sunny day

Not yet andrew , got a piece of kit for my ipod that i will install first ,i think that will have to connect through FM RADIO as car has no audio connection.

the radio i suggested has connecters on the back to attach ipod things
