hi all, try this one out-i have a defender 110 csw  300tdi and it seems to lose it's steering when i go through water, tonight it happened the water was really just puddles on the road, which i was surprised at.the last time it happened it was about two feet deep. i havn't paid much attention to the system over the years, so dont really know much about it.if it's belt driven is it just water slowing down the pump belt or something else. i would have had a look tonight but it's a wee bit stormy out .might investigate tomorrow if the weather behaves it's self. ::) any ideas much appreciated  thanks.

Its got an automatic belt tensioner - but they can stick......

If its not broken you are not trying hard enough....

Hi
Could be lack of tension on the PAS belt or the pump pulley worn but either way sounds like loss of drive to the pump.
