Well the sun didn't come out to play but plenty folks in Land Rovers did, wish my camera was working as my first picture would've been Tesco car park in Penicuik where a certain young man locked his keys inside his Land Rover...ooops..I left my Dad in charge of breaking in while I went off to get poorly sick food (chocolate) 10 mins later window was back in place...but oh for a picture of that moment hahahaha!!!
Plenty of forestry tracks to explore and one somewhat off which we survived but I believe someone else didn't quite.. ahem! Happy muddy people and Landys home safe and some people annoyingly talking about the next one which I can't come to because of sweary word...work  >:(
Fantastic day..thanks to everyone involved from myself and my Dad  :)

Good day today, pity about the weather. The D3/4's were out in force but only managed to get 4 in he picture.

Thanks again Alan!

There's a wee video as well, I'm not very good at them though.

I had a great time today despite the rather dreich weather. Many thanks to Alan for all the work he put in.

I had an idea while I was out, maybe some other people could comment if they think it's a good idea. Once Alan or whomever has doodled our route on the map, would people object if they were e-mailed the map and we printed our own? Save Alan a bit time (and ink).

Cozzie

Some good photos there, especially the non colour ones. The series' look great!

I would happily print my own map to help Alan out, I would also bring some spares if it helps. Good idea.

No problem with that, as long as he orders half decent weather instead.  ;) ;)

Maybe easier to put it in the GRR section in the thread on line perhaps rather than e mailing?

Some landowners might have a problem with maps of routes being too visible ?  As a general rule we try to keep quiet about exact locations, landowners have enough problems with unauthorised entry - my last recce Tim and I came across a bunch of blokes on quad-bikes out for a bit of fun who obviously had no permission to be where they were, etc etc.

Anyone can look at very detailed maps on the Internet - and detailed aerial views as well.  The only additional information on the maps would be where we were going and perhaps when.

Aye, it was a bit dreich in Cloich, but still an enjoyable day out. Good to get into some new territory - I'm working on some other new areas for next year, but as always, if anyone has any contacts, land-owners, estate managers etc who might let us have a wee run over their land please let me know.

Dave, you did say that you found one of the tracks a little slippery, but didn't admit to putting the D4 into a ditch - no damage I trust?

Next one is on 18th Nov....and that's in a MUCH bigger forest than Cloich - details will be posted shortly. Hope to see you there, Alan

we were only doing about 10 MPH, nice and straight and it just slid off the road, we were the first along it in the morning. Luckily it was only a very shallow rut. Must admit my heart was racing and the air in the car was blue for a while. Still on useless wranglers (must be a Jeep thing), can't wait until they are worn out and get something decent.

Unfortunately me and Stephen are at LRE playing in one of their defenders on the 18th.
