power steering box and transfer box

hi guys not been on here for a wee while hope you all had agood one ,

well here it is   , how do i or where are they the i.d numbers on my 1990 tdi 110 county defenders power steering box and the transfer box as both may need replacing real soon

If your vehicle is of the right vintage then a good investment would be the CD you can get off Fleabay with the LR Electronic Parts Catalogue on. From memory its only a couple of quid pus P&P. Type in your VIN code and "Power Steering" or whatever and up comes the exploded diagram, all the part numbers ....and the price circa 1998 !   
If its not broken you are not trying hard enough....

for the power steering box you count the bolts on the top 4,5,6, for the transfer box the numbers are on the back have a look at ashcrofts site theres is pictures and codes listed again its the ration rather than the number you are looking for 2.5/2.5td are differnt from tdi which are different from disco although all wil fit.
i have a disco transfer box in my 300tdi 110, slows it down slightly but is much nicer and quieter to drive, have a read around the web about this
