ABS and TC lights on.
« on: October 15, 2011, 03:05:22 PM »
Getting ABS and TC lights on a 2007 defender (Puma Engine). Had it reset but a few hours later it comes back on again. Anyone any idea and if it is a replacement job and where is a good place to get one?

Thanks, Andy

Have you had fault codes read, could be a mumber things most common on td5 was abs modulator shuttle valves sticking, units can be reconed or
?1500 from land rover or second hand off ebay.mines failed and had previously been reconed by previous owner @ ?600. But your better getting codes read first rather than stabbing in the dark.
Cheers

apparently a very common problem with these valves sticking is wrong or worn out fluid, some of the landrover systems require a specific brake fluid from landrover and the change intervals are fairly short.

Yep ditto what Stewart said.

It's all well and good resetting fault lights but something triggered it in the first place. Obviously the fault is still there, driving the vehicle with Testbook (or whichever diag the new ones run now) should give real time readings and trace a fault with a sensor or otherwise.

Yes, should have said error is that "pump failure 3 (pump sticking)" so it looks like a pump rebuild or replace. Brake fulid was replaced about a year ago by Land Rover approved garage.
