I have had a Land Rover 90 V8 REG 1985 since new i have been told this was only made for two years till the Defender was introduced is there any way this can be verified and how many of this model were made.
Still in great nick with only 47,500 miles to it's name.

I have a 1986 90 V8 county station wagon, and that would be about right, I think they were phased out around 1988.
Factory V8's were obviously not as common as the 2.5 n/a diesel or 2.5 petrol ones of the day, but there was still quite a few V8's made.

I have a factory 90 V8 SW, '87 D reg Original engine c/w emmission plumbing :) have searched and cannot see any definative manufacture figures. Heritage might help? Have a look at howmanyleft.co.uk gives some interesting figures, not sure how acurate though.

The problem with that site is that a lot of land rovers don't seem to have been registered with the correct name/spec.
I looked at my v5's and all the older ones were just down as 'rover' or 'land rover' without any details.
Still interesting for a browse mind!

Some issue with that site as regards older Land Rovers as the figures only start with A Reg vehicles from 1963, so all the Series 1s and a good proportion of Series 2s are not included. Even so, interesting to see that they think there are less than 10,000 "Series" vehicles left on the road in the UK, long or short wheelbase.
