Hello All
First post!
Just bought a Defender 90. It came with the standard meal wheels with Michelin 4X4 O/R Radial X XZL 7.50 R16 C (whatever all that means!) fitted. I am thinking about fitting alloys. Would I able to fit these tyres to alloys that would in turn fit my Defender?
Many Thanks

Hi and welcome. Yes. You can fit alloys easy. Get the right offset and your sorted. Best
thing is to get defender wheels. No worries then.

Welcome aboard and well done on selecting the worlds finest all-round off-roader.... ;D
As for alloys - its easier with a later Defender - mid 90s onwards - with Disc brakes. Most standard alloys will not fit early Defenders with Drum brakes on the rear axle. As Jon says you can get wheels specific to Defender or pick up a set that came off a scrapped Discovery pretty cheap.
The XZL is a very good off-road tyre btw, fitted to a lot of military vehicles.

You don't want a cheap kit otherwise it will go bang! Just shut your eyes and listen to noise, it makes it all worthwhile.

Thanks for the welcome all!
The Defender is only a year old.
So if I see a set of 16" Boost alloys for sale they - will fit the tyres I have on the steel rims?
