what should i take to this weekends camp??
« on: May 20, 2010, 10:46:25 AM »
the freebie would cruise effortlessly, cost less in fuel (and eardrums) , wont need to see a back specialist when i return, and its moving on soon :'( so would be its swan song :'( but because of that dont want it dirty :-[

the 90 has more 'character' as we sadists like to call it, would be more usefull pulling others out  ;) as long as i dont need the AA to get me home again... ::) oh and the 90 has no power steering thanks to it blowing up its pump so i would be getting a lot more excersise than ususal :o

cmon guys help me here ;D

The freebie get's my vote, I like comfort when going on long drives. Just give it a good clean when you get back.
or

option c, take my jeep and look really really cool lol  8)

Have fun either way, wish I was going.

Doug, youre a wimp......try taking a diesel 109, then you'll know all about eardrum bursting, bum-numbing, back breaking, filling fall-out , leaf sprung landy travel........ :o :o :o :o :o :o

Take the 90..... or in fact as Bill says, turn up in true style, and borrow his wee series....... 8)

if i had the cash id happily give that wee blue a home....dont think the mother would be so keen tho
im downgrading to one motor....being honest i dont use them much, just for fun or being flabby cabby taxi service :-[ id of kept the freebie for pure comfort etc but the way i drive offroad ::) i need something that doesnt mind getting a rough ride lol, i dont drive to avoid the holes i just let nature take its course and hope i come out the other end, freebie is superb offroad but it prefers if you steer around the roughest parts :D

Doug have you lost faith in the 90,sell both buy a another 90,just a thought.

However if Mel can get a 109 there without power steering a wee 90 will be no problem

im ina dilema full stop with motors. freebie is superb onroad, a good surprise offroad, and very practical

90 is a pain in the bottom for reliability, im ready to shoot it any day......but when it runs well it brings a real smile to my face :) and it DOES run well....sometimes ::)

but need it to take mother and father around now, mums disabled and old mans 70 and even less fit than me :o so lwb would be better. but have you tried parking a 90???? its a dawdle(with power steering) in the buses im used to my FRONT wheel being a foot BEHIND me, the 90 its the back wheel is only a foot behind. it parks on a penny lol

so i need a freebie for 'normal' use and comfort, i need a 90 for parking and i need a lwb to fit the oldies in. does landrover do build your owns lol

Doug,

Unless the lotto comes through for you, your requirments have DISCO written all over them.

My long term battle plan is, keep the freebie till paid off, sell and bank cash, in the mean time I am going for a 90 after July around the 2K mark, I have another car (vectra) which will be paid off same time as freebie, bank the cash, sell the 90.

By that time I will have a wee loan paid off, buying an a newer 90 for mud plugging and a RRS for daily drive.

Please, if any of you meet my wife, under no circumstances tell her my strategy, I find it better just to turn up with things :o
