Where does one source paint?
« on: April 17, 2012, 10:39:42 PM »
Perhaps a slightly silly question, but when I got the landy I got a small tin of Windjammer Blue with it. However at some stage i'm going to need more. Should I just go to a local paint supplier and ask them if they could mix some, or is there someplace that does 'landy paint' at reasonoble cost?

Yes, Bill Hayfield at http://www.paintman.co.uk/  is excellent.

If you send him a sample - I used the blanking cover for the LHD handbrake -  then he will match it for you.

Seriously, who knew that there are half-a-dozen shades of bronze green?

Lothian Brakeways Ltd, Dalkeith

They have all the codes, or pick from their colour charts. I needed harvest gold for my 1974 MGB GT and they mixed the exact colour on the spot.

I've also used http://auto-paint.co.uk/carpaint/ who made up 12 cans of paint when I re-doing my Chevy bonnet and door and my compressor was kaput.
