300 Tdi Lift Pump
« on: September 04, 2010, 06:39:53 PM »
Hi Folks, can anyone tell me the symptoms of a lift pump being faulty??

The reason i ask is that i replaced my lift pump about 3 months ago and have just replaced my fuel filter today and noticed that the priming handle doesnt seem to have any resistance or even feels like its doing anything.

Any idea`s?

nothing wrong with it, the pump will not be on the cam, turn the engine over and you will feel the pump primer working or flick the starter to turn the engine a bit, then try the lever again.
if the lift pump was faulty i don't think the motor would go for long

I believe one symptom is a severe lack of power!
