can anyone tell me if defender v8 axles are heavier duty than the diesel models.

Nope - they're all identical.

There are difference between 200tdi & 300tdi axles: brake calipers, diffs, things like that - but not re-enforcing..

As above no differences other than 10 and 24 spline diffs.

The factory upgrade is ex military Salisbury axles but sit down when you hear the price!

Some factory V8 Defenders came with 4 pin rear diffs as standard. I think there must have been an issue with rear diff failure so Land Rover fitted them with the much stronger 4 pin diff for a period of time. Haven't seen many but with no changes to the axle casing, you would need to remove the diff to check it.

 :)  Hi , I had been told a couple of times, don't know if it's true but diffs from a diesel can handle torque better than a petrol or is it just BS ?
