its a billy basic no screens in the dash and no sunroofs, little as possible to break   :D,   my td5 is a basic model and has been trouble free for 5 years so i am hoping for similar again after normal servicing  :)

Well, where do I start, mines was a base spec as well. As Graeme says, hope you have deep pockets there's loads you can do.

I've added -

Nappa Leather Steering Wheel
Cruise Control/Audio Controls on st/wheel
Front zenons/ rear D4 lights, internal LEDS
Front Fogs with built in LED rings to act as DRL's
Headlamp Washers
Roof Rails
EGR's Blanked
Modified D4 Front Grille
Puddle Lights
Sump Plate (for off roading just in case)
CB Radio

I'm also in he middle of fitting a split charge system just now with a 2nd battery for camping etc

There is also remaps you can get to add an additional 50 or so BHP! Even more power to be had!

well i collected it at 3pm on friday and gave it back for repair at 4pm  >:(  the garage put the usual tenner of fuel in it, so i went to the petrol station and filled it to the next  £110 :o  and it pissed a gallon or so out the top of the tank then stopped, so it must have some kind of issue with pipework on top of the tank , currently have a vectra estate car from the dealer while they drop the tank out to have a look.
they are promosing it back today but i am not holding my breath, i did tell him i would take the vogue hse from the forecourt for my holidays to tow the caravan if it wasnt fixed.

anyway stephen how do you add cruise control is it a new steering wheel or just buy the buttons?

My guess is rodent damage and you'll need a new tank. The breather pipe which is moulded on is made of a plastic that mice and rats like to chew on. You only find out as you did when the tank is full.
My friend just had this and I'm sure the discounted bill was about £900!! you have to fit a D4 tank with an adaptor kit as you no longer get D3 tanks.

yep thats the one breather elbow, but all the talk about mice and rats etc is crap its apparently a manufacturing flaw in the blow moulding on that elbow,  theres reports of rats/mice body rubbing/ build damage all sorts, landrover recalled the petrol ones but not the diesel ones?
anyway this ones out of landrovers warranty and is the garages problem
