It was a great day out, and good to be back out with the SLROC, pitty I wasn't in my own Landy but thanks to TommyB I was there..... ;D
I tried to upload some snaps to this thread but the forum wouldn't let me do it so I dumped them on Flickr,

Good Piccies, thanks for sharing :) :)

Thanks for today, really enjoyed my first run out. My family were gutted that they couldn't make it along (especially after seeing some of the photos). Hope to make more in the future.
Thanks again to the nice guy in the 90 pickup who told my about my tail lights :-[

^^^^ You're very welcome :)
Thanks to all for a great day out. My Dad and I had a great time - really enjoyed this run.

Another excellent SLROC event, many thanks to Sandy et al.
After seeing Gary's super photos I'll need to buy a better camera or take photo lessons!

Good photos, Gary. Is pic 0874 a photo of the team driving along the TOP of the Lochan Shira Dam :o ? If it is, I'm jealous as i've only ever driven along the road next to the dam to the South.
Glad you all had a good day out.
Geoff :)

We crossed it last year, it was good fun (http://yorkie.raguenaud-online.org/view_video.php?entry=SLROC%20GRR%2001-10%20Dam%20crossing%2016.9.flv (http://yorkie.raguenaud-online.org/view_video.php?entry=SLROC%20GRR%2001-10%20Dam%20crossing%2016.9.flv), http://www.raguenaud-online.org/cedric/gallery/index.php?album=%2Fsport%2Fgrr0110 (http://www.raguenaud-online.org/cedric/gallery/index.php?album=%2Fsport%2Fgrr0110)). The road back down was very icy. Was it this year too?

There was some snow around but road and tracks were clear and only a couple of muddy bits, very easy driving with the exception of the usual confusion :D :D at the turn arounds when we hit dead ends ::) ::)

Yeah Geoff, that was the squad crossing over the damn..
There were alot more photos but as most were taken from a moving vehicle the suffed motion blur. (I did ask Mr B to drive a bit more smoothly but he didn't, lol) I'm affraid Canon's Image Stabilization system cant deal with a Defender doing its thing on mountain tracks..... ;D
Anyway, a great day out and looking forward to the next one, wherever that may be.

The Canon stabilisation seemed to work fine for me - I just don't seem to have taken any pictures of interesting bits though.
Did anyone take a picture when I was parked up avoiding the last of the struggles to get turned? Sandy stopped and said it would make a nice picture.

Here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/piggy501/sets/72157625972404133/) are a few pictures from yesterday. I didn't take many this time.

It usually does fine for me too Navigator, it could be though that your Discovery is a bit more softly sprung than the Defender...... Either that you are a better Photographer than me..... ( I am just learning, lol)

I doubt if I'm much of a photographer - I don't know what to do with it if it is not set to "A"! Just hold it out the window and press the button.
