When I had my 90, I got one of the ceramic heaters from Maplin's. It plugs into the cigarette lighter socket and has a fan. You can tilt it towards the screen or into the cab. It was about ?10 and gives a fair output. Might want to check the fuse rating on the lighter socket as its either at or above the 8 amps normally rated outlet.

Kenlowe do a pre-heater that plugs into your domestic leccy, Eberspacher do an even more expensive one that runs on fuel tapped off the vehicle, means the engine is warm when you get in....but no help if your seals are shot and a howling gale comes in round the doors, through the front vents and the various holes in the bulkhead !

....check that the heater hoses inside the dash are actually connected. They are not that well joined up and previous fiddling with the electrics can have dislodged them, meaning the warm air does not all get to the windscreen etc...

If its not broken you are not trying hard enough....

I was offered a heater matrix for ?50 comes withh a 3 speed switch setting.  Run your coolant hose through this and duct the air.
Seemed to much hassle to me but great on boats.

How effective was te 12v cermaic from Maplin Tommy?

Are big jackets, hats, scarves and gloves not part of a Defender winter kit??? Oh, and a scraper for the inside of the screen... ha ha

My 90 is ok now i have new door seals  etc on to stop the draughts...

What about a radiator muff???

Make sure the matrix/matrix box isn't full of mud...

Fog X for inside the Glass
 & Rain X for outside.
Night Before De-Icer from Halfords, Spray it around the door Rubbers.

& a Green House electric fan heater from the likes of B&Q (?20) to leave inside the vehicle,
plugged in over night.
Sadly you cant get cables that mean you can drive away with them plugged in all day.

Hi popped into maplins on way home today and they only stock one ceramic auxiliary heater which is a 15 amp , 360 swivel base , fan and heat dual control switch , also has a mountable bracket with a foldable handle which let's you defrost your outside windows aswel as there is 2m cable on it , its ?15 but from today they have it half price until the weekend , not had a chance to test it as maplins is 5 mins from my house , but the sales guy says they are very good and popular which they all say , so let's see how we get on lol  8)
