My one was 110 ps up't to 125ps with the tow/load button & changed the gear pattern.
They are not classes as an automatic, they have 'clutches' not a torque converter.

I drove for a year manually before giving in & getting an actuator. (yours has the improved/rectified version)
You need to be carefull to have a good battery,
& a faulty brake light can cause a gearbox default.
They have engine sensors everyplace so needs good oil & correct antifreeze mix to keep temps right.

Dont use Laidlaws or A.M. Phillips, they are clueless.
Mo-Tech in Forfar if you need anything, he has the experience now.

Great van when running properly.
I hired a Jumbo to try against mine to find how they should change gear,
 something else driffting one of them.

Maybe they got some experience of them by now,
the disabled lady i bought it from had the fault almost from collecting it from Laidlaws at one year old,
she had hand controls fitted & they blamed them.
She raced huskys & traveled regularly to Poland etc with the dogs & buggies.
she just got feed up of being stuck/recovered with the van.

She paid Laidlaws ?1700 without ever getting it to run/change gear right.
It went twice to AM Philips without being fixed,

Ford just said they had never experienced problems.
then i bought it very cheap.
Then i found out that all the other demonstrators were scrapped & the new model launched.

She has run a LWB Sprinter with the improved gearbox for 4 years now & loves it.
They really should be sorted by now..

hmmm, worrying news but i dont have any trouble with mine, touch wood. might sell it before it breaks lol.

they are like hens teeth up here,
& well worth sourcing a newer one, as you have done..
I searched the country to get one i could afford, (then found it in the Ferry
& the guy i sold it to had tried for a year all over to find one.

Both of us believed that we were as well to buy one with a fault,
 knowing we would need it fixed.
It did get fixed in the end & it was still below book price, even with the repair costs.

Yours should be fine, just be aware of a good battery & watch for a blown brake light. LOL
