WHEEL NUTS
« on: February 05, 2016, 08:34:57 PM »
Hi  I have recently purchased some pre loved white modular wheels for my 1982 series 3 88 county
I had the tyres changed to the new wheels, then the fitter put a Do Not Drive note on the invoice
Apparently the wheel nuts  do not fit these wheels
The drive is so much better with these wheels
I had normal iron wheels Anyone got any bright ideas
Regards
Martyn

why do they not fit? i had to fit longer studs on my series motor with white weller wheels, the nuts fit ok in that they wouldnt pull through but the studs were short so the nuts didnt leave any thread showing through, to be honest if yours is the same issue i wouldnt bother if its only a thread or so

Hi
I have a similar issue with the wheel stud length on my 90 Defender, where the threads do not protrude through the nut. I read a Landrover article on the internet where they stated that the nuts should go on the stud by at least 10mm.
I raised this during my recent MoT with no issues.
