Stud extractor kit. Don't use a cheap set, if it is tight in the head it will make things worse by snapping or twisting.

If it's only one - leave it - the engine should start easily on 3 cylinders.  Mt last D1 ran for years with only 3 working plugs

Having had experience of a sheared glow plug in a 300 TDI (thread unscrewed leaving tip end stuck) I waited until the head had to come off for a cam follower repair and tried to knock the broken bit out with a punch, suffice to say it still has a broken bit in the head, it would not move!

Start up engine get it nice and hot then switch of and spray it with wd40 to rapid cool it before using the stud extractor also been told that hot cold effect could break its tight grip and the wd40 hopefully works in to help extract it  but as said unless your having problems with it starting there's no problem leaving it in place.
