Cheers,

It's a 1992 , 3.9 EFI Vogue, service history, 88 k miles with every mot since new, it's in excellent condition, cloth interior( which I like ) , 12 months mot, coil sprung, I drove it home 115 miles including being stuck in rush hour traffic in Glasgow and it drove perfectly. Everything works apart from CD player, I just hope it is reliable as I really want to use it more than other classic cars I have had , very comfortably but sore on petrol """

Hi Drew ,

Not sure about mpg yet as still using first tank of petrol, what I can say is it will be more than 16mpg , but how much I don't know but I will let you know,

Hi again ,

Filled the Rangerover up to the brim tonight and set mileometer, I have a long trip planned for Saturday so should be able to give a better idea of mpg soon, does anyone out there have a 3.9 and can tell us what they get ?

Cheers

Well my mate gets 22 on a run but then it's not entirely standard  ;)

with standard tyre a 3.9 manual would get 22 mpg just driving normal    a 3.9 auto would get 21 mpg driving consistantly at 55mph just in direct drive   with oversized tyres it will not get these figures   a 4.0 litre disco also on standard tyres will get 19 mpg    they all have to be tuned spot on  with the correct exhaust      the rrc 3.9 manual with a sports exhaust could only get 19 mpg after being changed but the smile was worth it     the auto when changed made no difference   but it was not as camy at 2000rpm

Cheers guys,

Not that mpg is everything I was just interested and will tell you exactly what I get after saturday, I noted someone mentioned 55 mph is that the best cruising speed ?  What I found on my drive home after buying my RRC was the absolute comfort, what a lovely drive and when driving I can easily forget about the mpg,

Looking forward to another good drive tomorrow, my main hope is that it is reliable, and I don't have too many issues during my ownership.

Heading down the 74 to Moffat tomorrow so look out for me if in the area, always wanted to feature in the " spotted " section.
