Fundraising?
« on: December 14, 2010, 06:54:30 PM »
Hi, as most of you will know by now Tayside 4x4 Response is in the process of forming.
Now, although there will be a membership/sign-up fee(in-line with national guidelines) to help cover insurances, kit etc. this won`t cover all costs, its really just a contribution towards costs.... so, we need ideas for fundraisers, sponsorship etc.
 Anyone able to help?
Thanks in advance,
 Jay

Is it worth becoming a charity them you then the group would have more chance of applying for grants or lottery funding?

Applying to become a charity may take a while, but it is on the cards

Yeah, not bad. I suppose that would depend on donations of parts though :-[

I'm sure some of us have some bits of tat lying about that is not needed  ;) Suppose people will need to PM what they can offer and you decide if it is viable.

Some sort of services that could be offered for a donation? Might be something we can use the LR's for.

How about a treasure hunt with a wee bit of "mild" off roading, maybe some forest tracks, aimed at the people you hope to help, and see how it goes.

Jay,

From experience, if you organise a good event you will be supported. You should also get local press coverage which will do no harm. The Highland team has an annual charity event which is now so well established that the local radio station supports them.

Problem I see is that there will be few requirements for 4x4 help except in serious conditions such as we have had recently so keeping the interest levels up may prove difficult.

Kind regards,

Sandy.

Sandy. Thanks for your input. We are thinking to keep things moving we would possibly support other charity events. We would also get awareness that way too. Even helping the club with marshaling and do on. There is always something we could do to keep everyone busy. Thanks.
