Title: Aurora Borealis, tonights the night possibly.
Post by: georgew on August 04, 2010, 06:53:47 PM
The Northern Lights,
possibly the best chance of seeing tonight for the past few years.
North, East & the South of Scotland to have breaks in cloud cover hopefully,
not a good forecast for the West because of cloud cover.
Pictures please if anyone is lucky enough to get a good sighting.

Don't worry if you miss them tonight - plenty of opportunity over the next couple of years there will be an abnormally large amount of sunspot activity which causes the solar magnetic storms that causes Aurorae.......................... solar flares can also knock out satellite systems so your SkyTV and satnav may also go down for long periods as might the communications satellites!

Jay ???,
Last nights sunset & sky over Clova was amazing around 10pm,
went out of town to Dunnichen Hill at a cloudy 11.30pm & could see only clouds.

That was mental rain this afternoon.
