Your thoughts please
« on: December 15, 2014, 10:03:25 PM »
Hi All,

Looked in the battery compartment for the first time today and discovered this ,

I realise this is some sort of air suspension probably for when towing heavy loads to raise rear end, so far I haven't found a switch for this but not the sort of thing I think I would ever use .

Spring assistors. Great if towing heavy loads and a expensive piece of kit.
Run power to it and you can pump up your tyres on the way

It looks like its all wired up , power running to compressor and air lines to rear springs but I can't find a switch , need to check behind the fuse box to trace wires, not something I'd use but handy to know how it works , how does it plumb into putting air in tyres ?

Its just a compressor all you need to do is find the air outlet and hook it up to a air line and run.

Cheers guys ,

I'll need to spend some time checking it out , intake it there will be a release valve for each bag so that they can be let down , thinking I could fit a T-piece with a shut off valve and have a length of hose with tyre adaptor on the end and I could use as an air line ....

Plenty of wee jobs for over the Xmas period

Cheers

Hi
Make sure that the compressor has a set pressure relief (PRV) before you connect to a power point.

Easiest way would be to take the pipe going to the bag and fit pressure gauge or direct from the out let of the compressor. then power up, better to be safe than sorry. Find out what the max displacement and pressure is for that compressor before you connect power, if you find that it is going above more than about 10% of is max out let PRV setting don't us it until it's repaired.

These bags are much like car tyre valves so they are easy to release the air from. You could fit a T pice 1/4" with a 1/4" ball valve on the supply line to deflate the bags without crawling under the beast.

I would also get a instruction manual for that compressor as some compressors are multi stage dependant on use..... Air bags, tyre inflate.......
