Hi all

Whats the best way to deal with (read: reduce) the condensation on the inside of a 109 roof?

Thanks

The kids have taken to using the window ice-scraper to get rid of the worst, then use the sponge end to finish off.

If all else fails, wear a hat!  ;D

Insulation. Glue carpet on the inside of the roof, or fit headlining. It's not just 109's. I had a RRC that I removed the saggy headlining from and in cold weather, it was a constant drip.

Good air flow does the job, get it on the road and go for a drive :P

I glued carpet to the roof and sides of my serie3 and it did the trick...... well it stopped the icey drips of water going down my neck! ;D

How ever my d2 has leaky sunroofs, so took out the headlining to sort it but has rain ever since so can't sort the sunroofs!

Got into it this morning after nightshift and the roof had ice on the inside!!!!!!

And then dripped down my neck on the way home............... ??? ;D

When I had a IIa (hey - it was current spec then!) I got some wallpaper sold for that very problem. It was really just 1/16th inch thin polystyrene sheet similar to ceiling tiles, with a protective coating. Stuck it on roof and sides - no condensation, and warmer and quieter also.

a good heavy dutycarpet that will resist mould. and a margetub filled with salt with holes poked in the top in an area that during driving/the day will dry out.

Not sure if yours is a van type or not Thomas, if it is line it with Ply then attach soundproofing to the ply, I did this in the wee 90 I had and it made a lot of improvement to the dampness and the road noise.

If its not a van then suggest attaching camping mats, the ones with the foil backing, to the bare metal, The foil reflects the cold and also acts as a barrier to the moisture, can be attached by spray adhesive or double sided carpet tape.

Sould be able to do the lot for less than ?20 for the non ply method.

my defender 110 is the same and it has roof lining, it was frosted inside and out ,as the day goes on it melts, leaving the headlining  front to back soaking .then the drips come ::) so my plan was to keep my eye out for some sort of heater and use it for frosty nights :)
