discovery 300 TDI audible speed warning

 A friend has asked me about how to remove/disconnect the audible speed warning on his 1996 300 tdi discovery automatic,a beeper goes when exceeding 70mph,anybody got any knowledge of this?

hi colin this seems to be a common thing on re-imported discos from saudi or japan discos as paul said today the common repair is remove the sounder which is behind the speedo

If it was a defender there'd be no problem. He'd not hear it in the first place....  :D
