ABS kicks in but not skidding
« on: February 02, 2014, 07:38:12 PM »
just changed all 4 ABS sensors on my td4 freelander1 also changed front drivers side brake pipe from ABS pump to flexi and after 9 months of being on sorn she is now back on the road but when braking the ABS now kicks in at 5mph, any suggestions on what could be causing this?

I had this on a D2.  It was a wheel bearing that was on its way out causing enough wobble to make the sensor think the wheel was rotating slower than the rest.

On an 01 Freelander, they had the toothed rings on the CV joints. They were quite guilty for breaking, causing similar issues. Don't even have to take the wheels off to check

Worth starting there first, as new sensors are not cheap
