Bonnet Makeover

Rust was starting to eat away on the underside of the bonnet so gave it a wee bit of a makeover.

Hi James,

Basically wire brushed the rust off with drill bits. Once cleaned up gave it a good coat of Kurust and then a coat of etch primer. I then gave it a coat of grey primer where needed and gave it a rub down with a fine grade sandpaper (600 I think) then a final coat all over with an enamel paint I sourced from a shop in Kilmarnock.

Most of the final coat was rolled on!

Cheers

Stephen

Flip side,

Chequer plate first then I'll coat the rest in green.

Coat of undercoat then sprayed black.

Hi mate,

I just basically cleaned up the chequer plate with a scrubber & soapy water. I attempted wire brush on a drill and decided it was taking too long lol

The base coat is 2 coats of industrial grey undercoat (as on tin), this was applied by brush. The top coats x2 was just Halfords Satin Spray which I had left over as I sprayed my other bits of chequer plate with it. I haven't had an issues with the paint coming off, yet!
