Ref caliper bolts removal, I use a half inch a/f 12 point socket hammered on to the bolt head, there is much less chance of rounding the bolt head as can happen if a 13mm socket is used.  The sizes are very close but the 1/2" is marginally smaller with less chance of rounding the bolt head. This has always worked for me.

One of the caliper bolts was already well rounded.  I eventaully hammered a 6 point 1/2" socket on to it and it rounded further.

I ended up splitting the caliper to allow me to remove the disc and drill the bolt from the front side.

Much swearing, drilling and hammering finally got the sod out.

New bolt on it's way.

Best news was that both brake pipes freed off nicely without breakage.

Cheers

Best thing to do would have been to apply some heat . Helped me many times avoiding snapping bolts left right and centre . Next to the pri bar, heat is my friend, but there are limits !!
